Cute hairstyles for son?

My son is 9 years old and he has down syndrome. We try to keep "up with the times" and usually get advice from my teenaged nephew about cool clothes, etc. He thinks we should let his hair grow (!!). As a toddler, my son had a long mullet hair do. I don't know if I can handle it.... Seems like more and more kids are getting mohawks.

That is great that your nephew trys to keep him with the times. It is great for him I am sure. Please do not do the mowhawk...I would suggest a layed, (NON MULLET) cut with a flip.

Kudos to you for keeping your son up to the times! Thats great for his self esteem. A mohawk sounds cool.

But let him grow it out if he wants to. In time, he will get fed up and want to cut it....Keep up the good work!!

Take him to a trendier salon with young girls. They will be able to see the texture and density of his hair, and will be better equipped to know what will look good on him. There's also no better place to find out what is popular, as they will have probably been doing a lot of the same cuts. They could also give you some tips on helping him to style it. Long hair might be itchy and bother him when it falls across his eyes.

Mullets are definatley not in style! But, a longer style is. My ten year old has his hair longer all over but over his eyebrows. Go to a boys barber shop and see what they suggest.
