Swimming pool bad for skin?

me and my kids are in the public pool 4 times a week...we are water people!!!! I take a quick rinse off outside to each of my kids and me when we are done in the pool....Is this bad for the hair and body? I really can't put them in the shower everytime after we go to the pool, it's too much work for me with a bad back and all.

Both boys ages 9 and 11.

I've been a competative swimmer for 7 years; and the trick is to shampoo and condition your hair after you swim. My rec pool has outdoor showers, and they allow you to use products. Of course you can grab some body wash and apply it on the visible areas.

But when you go home; wash your entire body. You don't need to wash your hair because you already did it at the pool.

The only bad thing the chlorine in the water does to you is dry your skin and hair out if you don't take the proper precautions. Of course wash your hair and stuff, but definetly shower. OR else you'll turn ashy and itchy.

I wouldn`t worry about it.

it dries the skin and you should take a shower afterword

Its a public pool and it doesnt have showers. Our public pool requires you to wash (rinse) before going in. How hard would it be to jump back in the shower on the way out.

If no showers then -- EWWWW lots of funky people out there that go to the public pool.

Its not the best thing to leave clorine in your hair. But I dont think it will do that much harm overall.

I hear ya bout the bad back.
