Do you remember?

wen you were a kid, do you remembering mom's old saying , your going to have a kid just like you a pain in the ***,![ i did,,,,,] wen i was a kid we walked10 miles to school in 10 inches of snow ! I didn't walk that much,, and no10 inches of snow,,,, I did wear my light new jean jacket from Santa , in 10 degree weather, and wet hair!!!it was cool ,i cant believe that i just said that!!! and i told my daughters the other day ,,,wait until you have your children,!!! your have one just like you,,, they both said at the same time,,,, im not having kids,,, did i tell you i said the same thing !!!!! lol , what do you remember from mom or dad?//lets compare,

Do you remember?

The saying I remember that most is, "Shut up."

Do you remember?

I heard that also. I also remember the saying "money doesn't grow on trees." sad thing is I say that to my son now.

Do you remember?

My parent's told me when I was a kid that they had to wear the ugly clothes that there parents bought them and they couldn't be picky. They also told me about the old switch thing too.. I'd hate picking a branch off of the tree that I was gonna get my butt busted with. And how things were so much cheaper back then and how crime wasn't nearly as bad as it is now.

Do you remember?

My mother always told me "When you grow up I hope you have a daughter as rotten as you so you can find out what it feels like". I grew up and had the best daughter in the world. But then again, I never told my daughter she was rotten. There might be something to that.

Do you remember?

my mom always says that she had to walk miles to school, and had a ton of chores to do. they had to get up before sunrise saturday mornings to do chores and clean house. they also had to catch the chickens to eat!LOL! my mom isn't old, barely 50 yet. and she has these stories. but she is 7 of 9 children!!!!! wow!! but most of the time my granny raised them on her own. but i take it in stride and tell her its not the 1950s or 1960s anymore!!

Do you remember?

I love this. I heard about the walk to school when I was little and that was along time ago. Now I tell my grandkids the same thing

Do you remember?

Well I'm sure I would have heard a lot worse if I actually lived with my mother. You see... my dad walked out on us when I was only 6 months old leaving my mother with 4 kids. She gave the younger two (my sister and I) to my grandparents. So I never got told "You're going to have a kid who is a pain in the *** like you." LoL I got the older versions... "You pay for your raising when you have your own." Or, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree so beware." Most parents won't use that one because that implys that THEY were bad too... lol but since she was my Grandmother I guess she figured that the apple had longer to fall to compare to her! She was a terribly sweet lady who unfortunatly had to deal with a particularly insane teenager (Sorry Gramma! lol) so I always managed to bring out the worst in her. But even at her worst I think the worst I ever got was, "Natalie, don't be a smart mouth! You'll never understand what you're doing and putting us through until you have your own kids. Then you will look back and want to apologize!" LoL I ALSO said, "Well I'm not having kids!" But low and behold... my fiance and I are trying! lol Thanx for your story!

Do you remember?

My Dad always used to tell me that he had to walk to school up hill both ways 10 miles in the snow... I recently found out from my grandma he only live half a mile away from his school!

Do you remember?

my mom used to say that if i make a funny face, its going to stay like that.

Do you remember?

yes

Do you remember?

My mother used to say: If you don't like something about the way I am parenting you then change it when you have your kids. I have and sometimes she questions me on why i let my girls do 'that'--- I've had to remind her of her advice and she kind of shakes her head, but that ends the conversation.

Do you remember?

to jump all day=]

YAY!!

Do you remember?

My parents didn't talk to me.
